Now What? Recovering after School Breakdown

Image for Now What? Recovering after School Breakdown

School has gone wrong for your child and it's been hard. You've been on a roller coaster of trying so hard and yet it never quite working. Now things have broken down. It's calmer, but you don't feel any better.

You wake up at night in a cold sweat with images of emails, fixed penalty fines and meetings. You might avoid talking about what happened, because it's just too upsetting. You wonder if it's all your fault, and if whether you'd done something differently from the start, you wouldn't be here now. You worry that perhaps you are a bad parent - after all, we all know that getting your child to school is what 'good parents' do.

You're trying to help your child recover, but there's no space for you to do the same.

In this new webinar, Naomi and Eliza will talk about how difficult it is for parents when school has gone wrong for their child. They'll talk about how school can start to dominate every element of family life and how it casts a long shadow, even when your child is no longer attending. They'll talk about the chronic stress of supporting a child who is struggling with school, and how this can lead to despair and burnout. They'll talk about paths to recovery.

These webinars combine professional expertise with lived experience. Eliza has a child who was not fine in school, and Naomi is a clinical psychologist who was a 'school refuser' herself aged five and thirteen.

This talk will focus on the parent's experience when school has broken down for your child. It will be compassionate, affirming and you will know that you are not alone.

This webinar will be recorded. Please choose that option at check out if you wish to watch a recording.

Such a relief to be at the excellent low demand parenting seminar by Naomi Fisher and Eliza Fricker last night. Joy at not being alone in the journey and grateful for validation of another way of doing life with our lovely offspring.

This was awesome. Like, life-changing and affirmative!

Such a humble, insightful and highly informative webinar. Dr Naomi Fisher and Eliza Fricker were the perfect duo of lived experience and academic knowledge. Lots to go away with to put into practice with those we work with, plus in our own home. Would highly recommend to anyone.
